• in yesterday’s episode of The World Moves On Without America, the EU and UK signed a deal to reduce post-Brexit trade barriers and bulk their defense and security. the UK did, however, make clear that it will not be rejoining the EU (noo baby come back).

MONEY

• as American support for European defense becomes increasingly uncertain, funds are being diverted from elsewhere in the budget. the EU commissioner is concerned about what will happen if money intended for farmers is redistributed to defense spending, given the current importance of food security.

• a sub-2% interest rate cut by the ECB might be on the horizon to tamp down on the effects of global financial uncertainty. just think of the names Trump will have for Powell if this actually happens…
